Charlotte has spent a week in Olhão (Portugal) gathering new insights into Marine Science, attending workshops and networking at the 2016 MARES Conference on Marine Ecosystems Health and Conservation.

The conference was organized by the MARES Joint Doctoral Programme and EuroMarine Network, consiting of two days of workshops and three days of scientific sessions. Hosted at the Real Marina Hotel in Olhão, researchers from all over the world had the opportunity to listen to talks on a broad range of relevant topics on the conservation of marine systems and to network at during breaks and poster sessions. The event was closed by an excursion to the closby Natural Park of Ria Formosa, a lagoon, that is a biodiversity hotspot for migratory bird species.

We hope to get the opportunity to cooperate with some of the new contacts that were made during this conference!
